Banana PB Protein Goodness

So, last night while I was watching tv and reading articles, i read about the importance of having a post-workout recovery snack/mini meal, so I knew that MEANT I had to make my frozen banana and crunchy peanut butter combo… however, I also read about consuming protein within 2 hrs of a heavy workout, so I threw in half a scoop of some vanilla whey protein powder… the powder is BLECH by itself, but mixed into my yummy banana-pb goodness, it added a little vanilla twist :) I was in heaven and told my fiance to never let me buy/crave ice cream on the weekend, instead I have to make my frozen banana dessert because it’s both good for me, delicious, AND way more filling than ice cream (which is definitely my weakness)…

by the way, yes that is a blanket surrounding my cup – i was cold!

    Cara ~ I use GNC pro performance 100% whey protein powder in vanilla… I originally bought it for my brother, but he is away at college, so i’ve been digging in… but i think i might go out this weekend and buy the chocolate flavor!

    I think I have to give that a try. Looks amazing and great way to add fruit into the diet :-) What kind of protein powder do you use? I have never bought any but I think I should because I never eat enough protein no matter how hard I try. heh.

    I’ll have to try them all mixed together! I just slice my frozen banana and smear on.

    chandra ~ morning :) I don’t even blend (i have an aversion to using blenders!)… I just mash & freeze… I added the instructions to the recipe page… I am thinking that a handful of chocolate chips would be great, so I might try that tonight!
