Resting Up

Well, the “apple/almond” combo didn’t necessarily work… I’ve decided that I just don’t think I have have fruit as a “snack”… weird I know… I am fine when I eat fruit with a meal, but when I eat it plain or even with some almonds (I had 8), I was still hungry within an hour… Granted, the almonds helped to hold me over longer than just eating a plain apple, but still… weird, huh?   The only exception to the rule is peanut butter haha…

Anyway, I got home and had dinner with my parents… I had a pork chop (ate about half of this), baked beans, string beans (lots of beans!), and a  chopped sweet potato w/ a baked apple thrown in tho the mix (my mom’s original creation)… It was really good (i love sweet potatoes & i love baked beans)…

I was going to go to the gym but I realized I had a lot of school work and stuff to catch up on, plus I have been battling this cold/sinus thing on top of the headache that is still lingering from yesterday… so i just did some abs & pushups at home and called it a night… While doing homework, I decided to dive into my dark chocolate stash in the freezer and had two “squares” (more like rectanges!) of dark chocolate ~ perfect way to end the night!

Flying Fast

Well today sure is flying fast, I looked down at the clock and realized it was lunchtime already!  It is a pretty dreary day outside for the last day of March… rainy, damp, and cold out… it’s one of those days where all I want to do is sleep… And it’s Phillies Opening Day too, go figure!

For a snack mid-am around 10am, I had the other half of my Cliff bar (the one I had Sat am before spinning)… However, for some reason, I was starving at 12, guess it didn’t hold me over as well as it normally does!  My lunch was a repeat of something I had last week, simply because I liked the combination so much… I had salmon w/ dijon with pretzels for dipping (which was a really interesting & good combination due to the salt & mustard!) and some hummus w/ green peppers for dipping… can you tell I like to dip foods?  I also am going to have a cup of this new Yogi tea I bought on Friday… I’ll be sure to give a full review later :)

I’m not sure if this lunch will fill me or not seeing as how I am ravenous right now, so I might be adding something onto it, we’ll see… if I do, I’ll be sure to post again!

My planned mid-pm snack is a small apple & a handful of almonds… I decided to take the advice of several readers and pair some protein w/ the apple to see if it will fill me up more than plain fruit does!
