Love Of Oats

A blog dedicated to balancing a healthy and fun life… with oats!

Where are the days/weeks going?!

Happy Thursday everyone :) I think Thursdays are my favorite day of the workweek (besides Fridays anyway) because:

1. I am usually swamped at work so it goes fast
2. I go to lunch with my dad
3. I get to spin!
4. I get excited for the weekend plans (this one involves a Phillies game & an essentially open weekend!)

All those things are on the agenda today, so it should be a great day… Not sure where my dad & I are going yet, but I’m sure it will be somewhere yummy!

Breakfast today was slightly different because I wanted to head into work pretty early today, although somehow I was still running late! I toasted up 2 waffles and had a banana on the side… and then I thought ooo where’s my protein/healthy fat at? So, I actually mashed up the banana (after the pic) with cinnamon, flax, & pb… and spread it on top and made a waffle sandwich… very yummy but not very picture-appealing! Definitely give it a try if you are looking for a different waffle topping!

I packed a light snack for the morning since I knew I’d be eating a pretty substantial lunch… a homemade “trail” mix of sorts… kashi go lean, couple of walnuts, and some raisins…

I’ll be back tonight to post lunch & dinner after spinning! Have a fantastic Thursday!!

Sagan ~ I really enjoyed making my own trailmix w/ cereal, I have to remember to start doing that more often, it’s much healthier than buying it already made!

magpie ~ Oooo what a yummy topping idea!

oatmeal ~ it definitely is… now I just need to pick up some strawberries to mix in w/ the bananas!

MizFit ~ Awwww, thanks, instead of counting calories the “checking my bases” seems to help!!! :D

ruby red vegan ~ hehe!!! After seeing them all on everyone else’s blogs, I got the craving too :)

Oh no, not another wafflewich! (In a good way, haha!) It looks so yummy, I am sad that I didn’t get a little bite of it. I need, need, need to make a waffle sandwich soon.

I love how you do a food group check-in — I do that too!

Mashed bananas are such a good topping for breakfast! I like mine with shredded wheat and PB, though I haven’t had it recently.

Those waffles look so pale, haha – probably because I like everything EXTRA toasted ;0) LOVE your spread idea, with the flax, cinnamon, and peanut-butter – yum!
