Love Of Oats

A blog dedicated to balancing a healthy and fun life… with oats!

A Mix

Well this afternoon I was totally famished, so instead of eating half of this bar, I ate ALL OF IT… and let me tell you, it was WELL WORTH the splurge!!!  I think this bar is my new favorite… The Apple Ginger bar was absolutely amazing, don’t get me wrong, but I loved the heartiness & wholesome-ness of the nuts & dried fruit that this bar provided – yum!!!  My description of this bar is “trail-mix in a bar”… creative, ehh? :)

Work has been non-stop craziness… I’m in a transitional phase now so I’m hopping all over the place, so I promise I’ll get to commenting on ya’ll blogs tomorrow, but tonight I’m going to take the night off… I read through them all, but I just don’t have the energy to comment, I’m exhausted!

Dinner was a quick one in the hopes of making it in time to get to spinning… I had another shot at Kashi’s frozen pizzas… this time it was the Thin Crush Roasted Veggie… This was just as yummy as the other pizza, but I felt like the slices (perhaps the thin crust factor – although deliciously crunchy) were not quite as filling as the Mediterranean flavor… Plus, I was looking forward to tasting artichokes, since they were pictured on the box, but unfortunately, I was not so lucky… Oh well, guess that’s why you need to stick to making your own food, right? :)   I also had a salad which was piled high with greens!

Then, I was off to the gym for spinning, but sadly the class was jam-packed… I got really iritated at first because I only brought cycling shoes with me, but I made the best of the situation and instead walked on the treadmill on a high incline for 15 minutes (sorry treadmill, I hope I didn’t hurt you!), then I did the elliptical for 10 at a high resistance, and the stepper for 5 minutes… Working out in cycling shoes was quite the feat, it required stability and tricky body positioning… I just hope that I didn’t damage my knees at all!  Then I spent some time doing a LOT of weight work… I did legs, assisted pull-ups, rows, back, chest, biceps, and some quick abs… All in all 330 calories burned, not too bad… not great, but not bad!

Then, I, of course, rewarded myself with a snack… but a healthy one… a sundae… no, seriously… Look:

Strawberry Rice Dream + 1/8 blueberry plank + fresh strawberries = my kind of sundae!

Linds! I have finally caught up on all of the wonderful things you have been doing recently! Man, I left on thursday to visit my family in Waterford, Virginia (Soooo b-e-a-uuuutiful!!!) and despite bringing my laptop with me, I did nothing with it (in terms of hooking it up to their airport). And thus I am only N.O.W. getting to my blog checkup! I looooved that picture of you with your Granola Planks :) If I looked that good after working out… Man, I don’t even know. Haha, I look like a beast after I work out! You looked absolutely radiant and lovely :)

Anyways, it seems like you’ve continued to do a wonderful job with not counting calories/eating intuitively! And filling your body with goodness always helps! Have a wonderful day and happy belated 3 months until your wedding day! So sorry I missed all of this! :(

That pizza looks really good; nice and thin crust. I’m gonna have to tackle pizza sometime – I’ve actually never made it before, besides helping my dad when I was younger! Kashi is great for inspiration :)
