Wrap-Up

POST IS FROM SUNDAY, SO EXCUSE THE TENSES :)

I need to come up with a more creative title for my Sunday night wrap-ups, so I apologize for the not exciting title name!

Anyway, this 3-day weekend for me literally flew by… although we got a TON of wedding stuff done, I still had some items on my to-do list that were not fulfilled, but I guess that is what next weekend is for, right? :D

Yesterday’s kiddie party was fun… It was a nice, warm summer day so we migrated both inside and outside where there was a lot of little kid activities going on (pinata, slip ‘n slide, etc)… Fun times… I wasn’t too hungry since I had just eaten a bowl of cereal prior to the party, so I snacked on some salad + fruit at the party mid-afternoon… I apologize for the lack of pictures, my camera battery was still charging at this moment and my cell phone was not taking a good, clear picture!

After the party, we headed to the mall and got some honeymoon clothes! There were a ton of summer sales, so it was GREAT to take advantage of that since the honeymoon is in September :) We walked around the mall for quite a bit and worked up an appetite, so we decided to have an earlier dinner… We weren’t sure what we were in the mood for… “should we make something? should we get take-out? should we eat out?”… We were just about to get Chinese take-out, since Bill had a craving, when we discovered a new bbq place that had just opened, so we decided to check it out… If there is one thing besides dessert that is my weakness, it has to be bbq food… And this truly hit the spot and had me well-satisfied… I ordered a pulled pork sandwich open-faced (on a slice of bread) with a side of baked beans, collard greens, and cornbread… Not exactly the healthiest choice, but hey, everything in moderation, right? I ate about half the of the beans, 75% of the pulled pork (none of the bread), and all of the AWESOME cornbread & collard greens… I packed up the leftovers and gave it to Bill to snack on later :)

Since we were pretty full after dinner, we decided to take a walk to the grocery store and then also a walk around Bill’s neighborhood… It was so relaxing & a great way to mellow out! We were pretty productive with wedding plans after our walk… It was ironic because we were watching Wedding Crashers WHILE picking out our Bible readings and our first dance song hehe…

Since we had an earlier than normal dinner, both of our sweet tooths came into play and we made a quick run to Rita’s… We both got the Peach flavor, but I got a kid’s size (just the right portion)… It was totally OUT OF THIS WORLD… I think I am now addicted to this flavor… I felt like I was eating a peach smoothie… I think this is going to be my new ice cream sub from here on out :D

Breakfast this morning was full of blueberries… We made stove-top oats complete with pecans, blueberries, mashed banana, and a little bit of pb… It was to-die-for… On the side I rounded out the blueberry meal with a cup of Tazo Blueberry tea hehe…

Bill and I got an early start on the assembling of our wedding invitations and worked around the clock until nearly 3:30pm to get all of our invitations stuffed, stamped and double-checked… Now they are all ready to hit the post office – yay! So exciting :) And one more thing to check off of the to-do list! In between we stopped for a “lunch” break… Bill had leftover pizza, but I was craving more breakfast food, so I toasted two whole grain waffles and spread them with cinnamon, flax, sliced almonds and jelly… This was definitely what I was craving and kept my hunger at bay until dinner…

Dinner was out to celebrate my grandpop’s birthday… The funny thing is that we headed back to the restaurant that my shower was at last Sunday! Too funny! I started with a cup of french onion soup…

For my main course, I ordered a ham, Gruyere, and asparagus panini with a side salad… I ate about half of what is pictured here and am planning on having the other half for lunch tomorrow! Love leftovers :)

And I topped the day off with a yummy slice of my grandmom’s homemade pound cake… This totally put me over the edge and was officially stuffed!

Since I live in your vicinity as well, just wondering what’s the name of fantastic BBQ restaurant you went to? Food looks delish! I’d love to try it one day!

I did the same thing as you yesterday – had breakfast, but by the time lunch rolled around I still wanted breakfast food!
