Love Of Oats

A blog dedicated to balancing a healthy and fun life… with oats!

Feeling Better

Thanks everyone for your really sweet comments about getting better… Surprisingly, I woke up feeling fine this morning… tummy is back to normal – thank goodness… so I don’t really know what the cause of it was, but I’m glad it’s gone!

I started off this morning with a hearty breakfast because I woke up starving!  This was a 1/2 cup portion of oats with 1 egg white mixed in and sliced almonds, fresh blueberries, and 1 tsp of flax… it was SO good!

Mid morning, I had a Strawberry Stonyfield yogurt with a pretty large portion of Kashi Go Lean… I realized it was a large portion when I had to keep spooning it in as I ate it :)   It was a filling snack!

I was starving again for lunch, I’m assuming that my calorie burn from Sunday is finally catching up to me :)   I topped a ww english muffin with Tribe garlic hummus, sliced cucumbers, and a slice of pepper jack cheese… I also had some Rold’s Gold Honey Wheat pretzel sticks with some raisins (love this combo) and a mini Apple Pie Larabar for dessert!

Now I’m fully satisfied… let’s hope I’m able to have my mid-afternoon snack because I’m excited about it… a sliced banana sandwich w/ PB&CO. Dark Chocolate Dreams PB

I know this is kind of a late comment, but where do you get your mini Larabars? I love these, but sometimes eating a whole one is too much so I the idea of a mini version is awesome.

Love your blog, BTW. I find we eat a lot of the same foods throughout the day (aka, oatmeal with egg whites) I thought I was the only one :)

eatingbirdfood ~ i think it definitely improves the texture… makes it “lumpier, thicker, & chewier” but in a good way haha :) i also do it for protein tho…

Thanks guys! By the way, looks like they do not sell mini larabars – they are only produced for promotions and things of that nature :(

I’ve noticed that several bloggers stir an egg white into their oats. Is this just for extra protein? Does it do anything texture or flavor wise?
