Love Of Oats

A blog dedicated to balancing a healthy and fun life… with oats!

All Better!

Just two points before I “blog”… I think bringing my own water helped tremendously… no tummy pains as of yet… and another point… I don’t really like Chinese food, so I’m right there with you rhodeygirl!  When I said it was a splurge, I meant it was a splurge to get take-out :)

I couldn’t wait to get my hands on a big bowl of steamy cereal this morning, despite the start of an anticipated heat wave!  However, instead of oats, I decided to have some cracked wheat as a nice change… I topped this bowl with strawberries & flax… it was deliciously filling and had the perfect texture!

Breakfast held me over for about 4 hours today, so I didn’t have a mid-morning snack until almost 10am… I had a blueberry Stonyfield yogurt and mixed in some additional blueberries & Kashi Go Lean… Again, texture seems to be a big thing with me lately, but I loved the chew & crunch & smoothness of all three mixing in.

I ate my lunch around 12:30 today because the snack held me over fairly well… I was looking forward to my lunch because it involved those amazing blueberry preserves & crunchy peanut butter on top of a wheat english muffin… alongside I had an unsweetened applesauce and then I popped a mini bag of butter popcorn :)

Since I’m going to kickboxing tonight, I’m planning on eating this Clif bar (full-size bar) to hold me over until I get to eat dinner (probably not until after 7pm)…

i know you girls love it for breakfast but you can eat it plain as a side with your dinner (in place of rice) and I bet you would like it just as much! And if you are feeling really adventurous try adding a little yogurt to it!!! My family (dad’s side) as well as my fiance’s family LOVES bulghur like that!!!!

i can’t wait for more wedding updates… your big day is coming so soon!

Ooo, I’m glad the water thing is helping!

That breakfast looks amazing, I’ll definitely have to pick up some cracked wheat soon!

Texture is my new favorite aspect of eating (well top 5 at least :) ).
