Love Of Oats

A blog dedicated to balancing a healthy and fun life… with oats!

Sweets

Last night when I was packing my lunch I was really craving PB&J so I decided it had been a while since I enjoyed a yummy kindergarten-style lunch… I used PB&Co. Bees’ Knees peanut butter on one half of my whole wheat english muffin and Blueberry Preserves on the other half… Believe it or not, this is such a feast for me… I’d eat it every day if I could, but I try not to so things won’t get boring for you readers :)

On the side, I snacked on some Quaker Quakes in Caramel Corn and really enjoyed them… that is, until I looked at the ingredients list and saw HFCS!! AHHHHHHH… I usually scan things before I buy them, but I was in a rush yesterday and they were on sale, so they were a quick impulse buy… I bought a huge bag of them too, so I’ll probably continue to eat them until the bag is gone, but I’m so bummed… why do companies have to do that ~ especially Quaker, who is maker of the best food ever = oats!

For dessert, I had another sweet treat… a nectarine… I haven’t had one of these guys in forever, so I was slightly nervous that I suddenly wouldn’t like it, but look at how yummy it looks?!… Lucky for me, I did really enjoy it and will make sure to buy these again in the future :)

Mid-afternoon, I snacked on one of these bars…

I used to eat the Kashi GoLean Crunch Chocolate Caramel bar 24/7 last year, so much so that I got burnt out on them, but after seeing them on sale for $1 at Target and seeing them on other blogs, I decided to try them again!  After eating this one, now I definitely know they will be making more of an appearance :)

Now it’s back to the grind ~ hope you’re having a great day… I’ll be back tonight after dinner & the gym!

Have you considered making your own little “quaker quakes in caramel corn”? Then you could do it WITHOUT HFCS! I’m sure they could be made… hm, now I’m all curious. Might have to look into that myself:)

mmmm PB&J for lunch is my idea of a perfect meal! chocolate and caramel together = my weakness. i should definitely try that kashi bar (since it’s better than having rolos right!?)
