Love Of Oats

A blog dedicated to balancing a healthy and fun life… with oats!

Saturday Shore Wrap-Up

Whew, I don’t think I’ve ever blogged or uploaded so many pictures in a day since I started blogging back in March :)

SATURDAY

Our breakfast was spent at the B&B and we were not really impressed with it, compared to the breakfasts we’ve enjoyed at other bed and breakfasts; however we stayed at this bed and breakfast because it was the least expensive and the only one available on short notice, so I guess we can’t complain… this was half a bagel with strawberry preserves (my favorite part), fruit salad, quiche (i ate 2 bites and put it to the side – not my thing), a slice of pork roll, and a cup of coffee

We ate lunch around 12 after seeing such a sad funeral process through town… apparently it was a former mayor, former chief of police, former councilman, etc… it was amazing how the town came together and everyone stopped in their tracks to honor the family…

We stopped at this new little sandwich place that had opened on the boardwalk… Instantly, I was intrigued when I saw the “Cowabunga” panini which was none other than peanut butter and jelly! I had to get this, but I asked for mine to be served on wheat bread… It was SOOOOOOOO good, I already told my mom that the morning of the wedding, this is what I want to eat for breakfast haha… but I guess I don’t need to explain how yummy it was, because looking at this picture, I want another one :)

The panini held me over REALLLLLLY well, probably due to the amount of peanut butter in my sandwich… We ran around town for the remainder of the day and even went to the Cape May lighthouse and museum, which was a lot of fun… they are really dedicated to the environment there and respecting the wildlife and we even got to meet this guy, who will soon be celebrating her 5th birthday!

We ate dinner around 5 so that we could be fully digested in time for our 7pm photo session… We decided to try Lucky Bones, which is my parents favorite restaurant in Cape May… now we know why! Upon sitting, we were greated with warm focaccia bread and a tuscan-spice flavored olive oil… I couldn’t stop eating this!

For my dinner, I couldn’t resist having crab cakes again!!!! I know, it’s an addiction :) The only difference was that this was a shrimp and crab cake and was lightly breaded (as opposed to the night before), but it was not greasy AT ALL… I ate about half of the coleslaw (which was really vinegar-y and yummy), all of the pickle, and most of the fries ~ these were soooo crispy and thin and I loved both the texture and taste! Bill ordered the Filet Tip sandwich and said it was amazing as well…

Then it was off to our engagement photo session… let me just tell you that I was BEYOND excited and pleased with the shots our photographer took… he showed us a few shots on his camera after he took them and they were just AWESOME… I was so giddy when the session was over and now I can’t wait to see them! This was a view of the sky when we were finishing up (with my camera of course!)…

And finally before I fell asleep in the car ride home complete with mouth wide open, slobber, and head bobbing from side to side (or so I was told!!!!), I had a vanilla flavored salt-water taffy :)

that’s awesome that you have your wedding morning breakfast picked out, you really need the fuel because after breakfast you may not eat much more the rest of the day. Although I remember having too many butterflies in my stomach to want to eat breakfast!
