Since I always forget to do these things, I decided I should do it before I forget, since I was tagged by not one, not two, but THREE of my favorite blogs…
One Body, Life, Chance – Chandra
Running With A Recipe – Sammie
PS. Thank you ladies for your sweet comments when “tagging” me…So check these ladies out if you haven’t already – their blogs kick butt!
Anyway, here’s the rules:
- Link back to the person that tagged you.
- Mention the rules on your blog.
- Tell about 6 unspectacular quirks of yours.
- Tag 6 fellow bloggers by linking them.
- Leave a comment for each tagged blogger, to let them know they have been tagged.
1. When I eat cake or cupcakes, I always eat the cake part first and save the icing for last, so it’s like one giant scoop or shell of icing… My family & friends think it’s gross but I think icing is the best part and I like saving the best things for last…
2. I’m really obsessed with to-do lists, to the point where I have them all over my desk at work and home and I list the amount of time I think it will take me to complete it and a due date… really obsessive, I know and I’m trying to shake it!
3. When I eat chocolate (in the form of a bar), I really like to enjoy it, so I take little bites and then let it sit in my mouth almost as if it were a lollipop or a hard candy!
4. I LOVE countdowns… I usually countdown to our vacations 2 months in advance and send out reminders to my friends (who go on vacation with us) with updated “how many more days to go, etc)… and more importantly, I love having things to look forward to, even if they are months away… so needless to say I have been counting down to the wedding… today is 1 month, 1 week OR 38 days haha!
5. I have an awful sense of direction… I mean really bad – to the point where it’s laughable… I basically use my GPS (Tom Tom by the way) everywhere I go… My mom and brother also have a similarly poor sense of direction and unfortunately, my dad is the only one that doesn’t need to rely on directions (most of the time)… which is why everyone in my house has their own personal GPS (all Tom Tom’s ha!)…
6. I know to some of you this might not be a quirk but to my friends and family it is… before I started this blog, I used to eat natural pb & grape jelly on an English muffin nearly EVERY day (and I mean over the course of MONTHS, not WEEKS)… it was a running joke when my co-workers or friends used to ask me what I had for lunch b/c it never changed! Now, that I have the blog, I try to switch it up more, but I still have to fight the urge to pack pb&j!
Since I was tagged triple, I decided to throw in three extra “quirks”…
7. I can speed read… I mean, I’m sure it’s not a huge talent, but thought it was an extra little “quirk”… I can scan a sheet of paper in a few seconds and know what it says… now remembering it, is more difficult for me, but I’ve always been like that… especially when given a birthday card with a lot of writing in it, people used to get mad because they thought I didn’t read it and when I would recite back what was written in it, they’d be surprised haha…
8. Finally, I am a huge klutz with little to no coordination… growing up, I was a ballet dancer for 12 years, but from the time I stopped dancing, my coordination went out the window… It’s gotten a little bit better, but there was a time where every day (now it’s on a weekly basis and I carry around a Tide stick wherever I go) I’d spill something on myself or knock something over or even fall out of my chair (at work, yes!)… However, I take pride in it because it seems to make both me and other people smile
9. I’m an early bird by default (partially due to my parents being that way)… The latest I typically sleep is to 8am on weekends, and weekdays I’m up by 5am… However, as a result, I have issues with staying up late at night and most nights (even some weekends) I am in bed by 10 or earlier… There is a running joke with my family that they are going to have to pull a cot out at my wedding so that I can go to sleep ha!
Well, now it’s my turn to tag some bloggers… Hopefully I’m not duplicating any “tags” here but I’ll try my best:
1.) http://betsycookshealthy.wordpress.com/
2.) http://www.angelsfood.net/
3.) http://howtogainweightonavegandiet.blogspot.com/
5.) http://eatingbirdfood.wordpress.com/
6.) http://healthyashley.blogspot.com/
Hope you continue the tagging, ya’ll!
Anyway, before I forget, here’s a wrap-up of my lunch & snacks…
For lunch today I decided on skipping out on the jam/jelly/preserves and just enjoying the wonderfulness that is PB&Company’s Dark Chocolate Dreams on a whole wheat English muffin… I’m glad I did because it was like having dessert for lunch! It was even better because my “side” was half a cup of cottage cheese (can you tell I’m trying to use the rest of this stuff up before the expiration date!) with a half cup of mixed fresh berries (mostly blueberries, but a couple of stray strawberries too!)… yum!!
Mid-afternoon, I was just planning on having a Clif bar when I got a call from Bill that his work had lower-level Phillies tickets for tonight behind home plate… so that changed my schedule for the night completely… I was planning on doing kickboxing, but now looks like I will be skipping the gym to go to the game instead
My parents and friend are also coming with us (he had 5 tickets), so it should be a great time! I shifted gears snack-wise and ditched my full-sized Clif bar for a Kashi TLC Crunchy bar in Honey Toasted 7 Grain instead… hopefully this holds me over until we can get down to the stadium & grab some yummy eats!
My dinner post will probably not be until tomorrow since we will probably get back from the game late, so I hope you all have a fab Wednesday!

I can’t remember if I’ve commented on your blog or not, but I thoroughly enjoy it and have added it to my list of blogs to read every day.
I do the same thing with cupcakes. I actually cut off the bottom half and throw it away – I rationalize that I can eat two tops that way!

eatingbirdfood ~ Aww no need to thank me
Jenn ~ hehe it’s funny b/c last night someone needed one and they all pointed to me!
rhodeygirl ~ Ohh wow – i wish i knew that before i left i would have tried to scope him out hahaha

ruby red vegan ~ Oh that stinks about your blueberries being $$$… ours are actually cheap right now around me!
Cat ~ hehe!! thanks
VeggieGirl ~ Thanks!
Sarah ~ I <3 your buddy system! Bill and I should do that b/c he likes the cakey part and not the icing ha!
linds ~ Yeah its tough I wish there was a way to improve it
Melissa ~ hahahaha, i wish i could improve mine! yeah and my dad still eats pb&j too from time to time (but not as much as me!)
Erica ~ Thanks! I wish I could speed talk ha now that would be funny!
glidingcalm ~ Awwwwwwwwww!!!! I like the term graceful butterfly tho
HangryPants ~ Oh this is a toughie… I love dark choc dreams, white choc, cinnamon raisin, and then the bee’s knees… they are my all-time faves thus far!
Anita ~ hehe that is funny you are a pb&j addict like me
I am a huge fan of wegman’s pb too but i just can’t resist pb&co.’s brand (which is all natural too by the way if u want to check it out)
fitnessista ~ Aww i have had many similar driving experiences like that too!!!!!!!!! You can get pb&co here (if you can’t find it at your grocery store, i think there is a store finder on their site also): http://www.ilovepeanutbutter.com/
mangotriathlete ~ aww thanks
no my fruit & cottage cheese/yogurt typically doesnt get mushy if i eat it b y lunch time (although i do keep it in a very cold fridge at work)… however i think if i waited longer or didn’t keep it super cold, it would
Mangotriathlete says:
My family laughs at my lack of imagination in lunch too – hence I try to use your (and other) blogs for inspiration
Wondering, does the fruit/cottage cheese combo get soggy by lunch? I mean, does the fruit get too mushy?
fitnessista says:
we’re basically twins on #1, 2 and 5
i love icing the best (usually i have 3 bites of my husband’s cake if we’re at a party and i only take “icing bites” ) and i’m horrible with getting lost!!! when we lived in fayetteville, nc i accidentally got on the freeway and ended up in elizabethtown which is an hour and half away! and of course, the to-do lists are everywhere
what is that dark chocolate spread and where can i find it???
have fun at the game and a fabulous night!!
Anita says:
This is my first time commenting on your blog, but I’ve been reading it for a while now, and I love it! But I had to comment that I have almost every single one of these quirks! (Except for #4 and #9… actually, I’m the total opposite there… I’m a night owl by nature and could stay up until 2 a.m. every night easily if I didn’t have to get up at 7 a.m. for work!). Only instead of PB and grape jelly on an English muffin, I have natural chunky peanut butter (Wegmans brand- I love Wegmans!!!), with sugar-free jelly on TJ’s whole wheat bread. But I bring it every single day to work, and I never, ever get tired of it!
I’m from PA too- GO PHILS!!!!!
Hope you had fun at the game!
HangryPants says:
I saw PB&Company peanut butter at the market today, but there were about a billion flavors and I got overwhelmed. What do you recommend?

glidingcalm says:
Haha thanks for sharing Linds! I am a klutz as well… my nickname used to be “graceful butterfly” as a joke! I don’t have a Tide Stick, but I could use one! Your lunch looks especiailly delicious today too! I still have to give cottage cheese another shot!
Erica says:
That is amazing that you can speed read- I’m jealous! Thats an awesome talent to have
Melissa says:
i used to be like you when it came to directions..but now everyone calls me their “tom tom”! i suppose i’m like you with speed reading, but i’m like that with maps~ i can look at it for a second, and know exactly where to go up to months later! but i guess i should be able to do that since my job is making maps everyday. lol!
and i love your quirks! and again, like you, through elementary, jr high and high school, i basically had a pb and j sandwich everyday…and so does my dad!
!!!!
linds says:
Have an awesome time at the game!! I am with you on having an awful sense of direction…. I could seriously get lost anywhere.
Sammie says:
Thanks for being such a great sport – I had no idea you were already tagged twice. I am with you all the way with the icing, I will even ditch the cake. I hope you have a great night at the game with the fam. Can’t wait to hear about it in the AM.
Sarah says:
I can totally relate to #1-4 and #9! I have a great system worked out with one of my friends where she eats the cake and I eat the icing. How she doesn’t like icing, I don’t understand, but the system works out perfectly. Pink Funfetti icing is my favorite I think—but it’s gotten to the point that I can’t make cupcakes anymore because when I go to ice them I just start eating spoonfuls of icing straight. Not only is this SO unhealthy, but then I run out and my cupcakes don’t even get finished! Haha
VeggieGirl says:
I’m like you with #2, 4, 5, 6, 7, AND 9!!! :0D
Have fun tonight!
Cat says:
I love reading about people’s quirks! I laughed out loud at the joke about you pulling out a cot at your wedding.
I can totally relate to not being able to stay awake late. My friends call me grandma, and I’m only 25. Hehe.
Have fun at the game!! (Your chocolate sandwich look a.ma.zing, by the way!)
ruby red vegan says:
Ooh your quirks are so interesting! Especially the speed-reading thing. And I can’t stay up very late, either. I fear the same thing may happen to me if I ever get married!
Your desserty lunch looks yummy. I want blueberries so bad it’s not even funny, but they are just so darn expensive, even the frozen ones!
Sagan says:
I’m the exact same with to-do lists. Love them. I’ve kept lists since I could hold a pen:) As for the icing and cupcake thing? I always eat the crusts of bread and save the middle for last because its the best part. I do it for sandwiches too (it can get kind of messy…). I thought I was the only one who did that until I caught my boyfriend doing it one day. I got so excited it was ridiculous!
rhodeygirl says:
eeek! my fiance will be at the game too!! and behind home plate!!!! if you see a tall guy with dark short hair and blue eyes you’ll know it’s him hahahahahah!
Jenn says:
Have fun at the game! I’m a total klutz too, by the way — I have a Tide stick in my purse
eatingbirdfood says:
Thanks for tagging me! It was fun reading your quirks. Enjoy the game tonight.
