Ok am I in the twilight zone? Seriously ~ last night we had the worst weather in a while which led to the Phillies game being suspended unfairly… ahhhhh don’t even get me started! Anyway, then today we get snow! What is going on???
Anyway, I started out this crazy day with a hearty bowl of 1/2 cup of oats, 1/2 scoop of chocolate whey isolate, flax, and sliced almonds! I also had a travel cup full of pumpkin coffee…
This breakfast held me over for almost 4 hours – that’s a record! This one is a keeper, for sure. I had my mid-morning snack around 10 which was a banana & a 90-calorie packet of Barney Butter… I truly had no idea what 90 calories of almond butter looked like until today and I was shocked. I basically smothered my banana with the almond butter and still had a little bit left (which I gladly ate!)….
I don’t know if it was because I had a busy work day or what but all of my meals kept my hunger at bay… this never happens especially on a cold, rainy, dreary day! Around 12:30, I ate my white chocolate pb + pear butter (how coincidentally that it is the BSI of the week!) sandwich on wheat… I had to run to a meeting, so I saved the peach yogurt & fiber one for after my meeting around 2pm. I inhaled it because I was starving at that point!
We were supposed to go see a few houses tonight after work but due to the weather both Realtors canceled – one of the houses actually didn’t even have power. I was debating between going for a quick run at the gym but I really didn’t feel like parking at the gym and getting drenched on the way in AND way out, plus my knees were feeling a bit wobbly, so I decided to do a workout at home. When I got home, I was pretty hungry again so I ate half of the Pure Protein Hot ‘n Healthy Banana Nut Squares. My oh my – they are good! I microwaved half of it in the microwave for 8 seconds and enjoyed every bite. I can’t wait to eat the other half – glad I checked these guys out!
Here’s the bad boy…
I used Comcast’s Exercise TV and did Jillian Michael’s level 2 Shred using 5 lb. weights. It was really challenging! I also put on the Girls Next Door workout just to see what it was (I must admit watching the show is a guilty pleasure) and I was hysterically laughing – it was ridiculous, but brightened my day haha!
Bill got home from the gym around 6:45 and I decided it was definitely a soup night! The pure protein bar really kept me full and I wanted a pretty light dinner but I was craving vegetables so I heated up a serving of my MIL’s delicious veggie soup. I added some green beans & corn to it for a bigger serving (so I could stretch out the soup to use for lunch tomorrow too!) and topped it with crushed red pepper flakes. It was delicious and hit the spot!
Dad, I don’t know if you’re reading this or not, but I added a string bean here and there
It’s a long-running soup joke between my dad & family haha
While the soup was heating up on the stove, I decided to make some quick biscuits using Bisquick Heart Smart, fat free milk, and pumpkin seeds. I made one each for Bill and I. I loved the crunchy pumpkin seed topping!
Now it’s off to continue watching The Bigger Loser and relax a bit! Hope you all had a great day

I had now too. SUCH an annoyance eh? That’s too bad about the game!
Those oatmeal squares DO look insanely good. Especially heated…
I like the addition of the seeds to the biscuits too. Gives them so much more ‘oomph’.
Wow, delicious!
I must say though, I have never seen PB in a… packet that resembles ketchup. Neato!
I can’t believe it’s snowing there! It is FREEZING here, but I guess not really because it’s also raining.
And HEY you all- watch your Rays Bashing!
Ahh, white chocolate PB… I miss my jar after I ate the whole thing in 5 days. Sigh…
Your sandwich looks wonderful!
Ah I was super annoyed about the day-long game delay as well. Apparently the Rays are just putting off their inevitable defeat
Love those biscuits… they look awesome!
I had no idea almond butter came in little packets like that- too cute! And the soup looks great.
snow? madness!!!! at least you’re not like me…i saw my first snowfall the summer of 2007 in AUSTRALIA. hahahaha…now that was interesting.
and pear butter? sounds interesting…i so wish i liked pears so i could participate this week!
hope you get to check out those houses soon!
I really need to get some barney butter! Everyone uses it!
And I thought it was a typo when you put “pear butter” – but then you referenced the BSI – and realized – it wasn’t a typo! Too cool!!!!
I’m sure it’s DELICIOUS!
snow?!?! crazy!!!
it was just AWFUL getting off the plane from LA (where the weather was soooo nice) and walking into a cold, rainy day@
I know, isn’t this weather NASTY??? I can’t stand it…it just seems so early for our first snow! Luckily it didn’t stick in WI, but still….yuck!
Ah, good to know about those bars! I’ve been eyeing them up and didn’t know if they’d be good or not.
that WAS so weird about the game…although for some reason its always odd this time of year—to me—to still have baseball going on.
Its really cold here too, but not snowing yet! I am having soup later on as well!
i would KILL to try barney butter!!! i’ve scoured all over google to try and find an online delivery to england but nooo. maybe one day!
that biscuit is the cutest thing ever!!!!!! wow!
