Love Of Oats

A blog dedicated to balancing a healthy and fun life… with oats!

Hi Everyone. How was your day? Mine went by so fast, I guess because it was “Thursday” hehe. I will be so happy when tomorrow’s work day is over because then I get a mini vacation from work until Monday – love it!

I started out the morning with a super festive breakfast. It involved 1/2 cup of oats, cinnamon, vanilla, flax, a banana (cut and cooked w/ the oats), pom seeds, and pecans. Such a filling and flavorful breakfast – nothing like a good bowl of oats to start the day!

Mid-morning I cooked up an oatmeal packet – I get addicted to having this snack at work in the winter because it warms me right up!! I saw when reading the comments that Meghann noticed that my oatmeal has trivia on it hehe.

Lunch was a favorite of mine – I have become obsessed with this combination. Preserves just don’t cut it (this time of year anyway). I had a peanut butter & pumpkin sandwich on an Arnold’s sandwich thin with a peach yogurt & 2 clementines. Do you like their balancing act?! I thought it was impressive :)

Mid-afternoon, I snacked on another one of the Spooky S’mores Clif Z-Bars that Andrea sent to me. I loved this one. I love how when opening these particular bars, the flavor just jumps out at you. Makes it taste even better!

Then it was off to the gym where I did a super super fast 30 minutes on the elliptical.  I clocked in 3.2 miles and burned 230 calories.  I darted home because we had our realtor coming over our house to work on some paperwork.

Bill picked up Chinese for us for dinner so I requested steamed shrimp & broccoli with a side of white rice.  It was yummy but sadly I didn’t get a picture because I felt weird in front of our realtor :)   I also had a fortune cookie that revealed I will have good health haha!

Ok well now I’m off to pack lunches, shower, and catch the tail-end of Biggest Loser, then it’s off to bed.  Have a great Tuesday night and Wednesday morning!

Jamie Lee Curtis! (Fish Called Wanda star). Trivia is fun.

More pom seeds! They’re popping up everywhere and look intriguing.

The Arnolds Sandwich Thins are calling my name. I love pita/flat bread and they look yummy!

haha.. you need to take a pic of the back of the oatmeal packet so we can have the answers. Now I am wondering who the female star in a Fish Names Wanda was? :)
