Love Of Oats

A blog dedicated to balancing a healthy and fun life… with oats!

Nice Feeling

Well, we had our first “showing”, but it stinks that we don’t know what the people thought of our house!  Oh well, I guess if they liked it, we’ll hear something soon!  Let’s hope!

After my last post, I headed out to meet my friend to try on the bridesmaid’s dress – it was so pretty – I loved it and can’t wait to wear it.  It’s a dark green color and I think it looked so pretty, especially for her Fall wedding next year.  When I got home, Bill and I had a quick lunch.  We both had pb&j, except I had mine on a toasted whole wheat English Muffin and used strawberry preserves instead of jelly.   On the side, I had an applesauce cup with cinnamon.

The applesauce was good, but not as good as homemade!  I need to stock up on apples so that way I can have some of this on hand!

Since we had all of our cleaning AND laundry done, I wrapped some of our Christmas presents that we picked up the other day.  Now I am sitting on the sofa w/ Bill and having a great cup of tea with some of my grandmom’s homemade pizzelles.  It’s such a nice feeling to relax and enjoy a great “holiday” snack!

In a little while, we will be getting ready for a few of our friends to come over for a “board-game” night.  We all have outgrown the bar-scene and are all saving money so we thought this would be a great time.  We are planning on having tons of snacks, finger food, and pizza (tomato pie & regular pizza).  I will try to take as many photos as possible – I hope I remember :)

Fit More In

Looks like I was able to fit way more in this morning than I though I would have been able to!  I was up early to head to the gym for my 8am spinning class.  On my drive there, I was in the mood for something different as a pre-workout snack, so I decided on a Clif Mojo Peanut Butter Pretzel bar.

I got there a few minutes early so I did about 10 minutes worth of weighted ab exercises and then headed into class.  The class was great as usual, although I must admit, I had a rough start.  I just couldn’t get going in the beginning and felt really SLOW, but luckily, I woke up half way through :)   I burned 485 calories during the class, so all in all, it was an unbelievably great workout!

When I got home, I couldn’t wait to eat breakfast, but despite jumping in the shower to “cool-off”, I was still slightly hot, so I decided to have a cold breakfast.  I had a bowl of Kashi Heart to Heart (probably a cup and a half or so?), pom seeds, flax, almonds and skim milk.  It was a nice change from my normal “hot” breakfast.  Alongside my pretty bowl, I had a cup of cinnamon bun coffee (Target Archer Farms brand) with a “sprinkle” of Italian Sweet Cream creamer.  I don’t normally use cream in my coffee; however,  on weekends and during the holidays, I like to indulge in some of the seasonal flavors that are available.

Now I’m off to do some last-minute cleaning and then head out.  I have a bridesmaid dress appointment with one of my friends who is getting married (we have lots of weddings coming up in 2009) at 12pm.  PLUS, we are having a realtor show our house today, so let’s hope we get some “bites”.  We made sure the house was spotless, so hopefully it pays off :)

Hope you are all enjoying your Saturday morning!  Doesn’t it feel like Sunday?!!
