Love Of Oats

A blog dedicated to balancing a healthy and fun life… with oats!

So Sorry

Sorry my lovelies… I apologize for being MIA yesterday! It turned out to be a crazy work day and then when I got home, my primary focus was getting to the gym AND getting my Christmas cards done, so I took a night off and was ultra-productive. However I’m back now so have no fear, Love Of Oats is here – ok you dont have to tell me, I’m a cheeseball… but at least I know it!

Breakfast was a delicious bowl of pumpkin oats topped with flax and pom seeds.

Lunch was with my dad except this time we went to Wegman’s to switch it up from our normal Panera Bread lunch :) It was a delicious lunch with lots of amazing components…

I had a little bit of my dad’s pear and spinach salad

Then we split a 12oz cup of the most amazing pumpkin bisque I have ever tasted, even better than what I had in Jamaica…

And for my “main” lunch course, I had a turkey, roasted red peppers, and pepperjack cheese on a wheat wrap which was super adorable since it was cut into fours… isn’t it? It was almost too cute to eat but I ate it anyway and it was super flavorful!

Here’s the whole picture, complete with my Honest Tea… great lunch w/ my dad, wouldn’t you agree :)

Mid-afternoon I snacked on half the Clif Z Bar pictured here and ate the rest of it right before my spin class started… I didn’t eat the oatmeal!

Spinning was great – I burned a sweaty 430 calories during the hour class, not as impressive as Monday’s but still a great workout! When I got home, I cooked up a super quick dinner of Aidelle’s sundried tomato and mozarella chicken sausages, leftover sauerkraut, and green beans… delish!

Bill and I just watched the Heroes episode from Monday and it was SOOOOO good! I can’t wait for it to come back on now – it was super suspenseful! Now we are FINALLY about to put the last of our Christmas ornaments up on our tree and relax a little bit before heading to bed.  I decided to end my night on a sweet note with some cinnamon raisin bread & peanut butter.

Just a little note, I have been reading all of your blogs, but sadly have realized that it’s nearly impossible for me to comment AND blog on weekdays, so look forward to my comments Fri thru Sun :) However when I’m on vacation (starting Tuesday night thru January 4th) from work, I’ll be able to comment regularly!

Those close-ups? Wow. Somehow doing close-up photos of food makes these already tasty-looking dishes seem about 10 times better… yum yum.

I hear you one trying to get around and comment on everyone’s blogs. It’s hard!! I do my best once I finally get to my “time to be a bum” stage every night!

I have to laugh every time I get on your blog. Only because for some reason pom seeds remind her of red bugs(I don’t know). So that’s what I think of when I see your oatmeal…bugs. LOL
