First Present

Before I start this post, I just wanted to let you all know that I FINALLY updated my “about me” page!  It’s been a while since it was updated, so go check it out if you are interested!  I’m hoping to finally get to my blogroll over the weekend and update that as well!

Yesterday it was Christmas for me.  Yup, that’s right, because I got my first present (besides my camera 2 months ago) in the mail from the Chobani fairy!!!!!!!!!!!  After being soooooooo sad seeing the Chobani fairy visit everyone, she finally visited me – yay!!!!!!  When I returned home from doing last minute shopping, I was pleasantly greeted with this box:

Upon opening, I was even more excited when I saw these delicious varieties awaiting me…

So, although I couldn’t wait to try one, I decided to hold the suspense and enjoy one today as my “lunch” (since I ate a late breakfast and we are eating an early dinner).  I chose the Peach Chobani since I had never tried it and read about Mrs.LC raving about it :)   I topped mine with pom seeds, homemade granola (which contained peanuts, walnuts, almonds, raisins), and fiber one.  I also took a spoonful of peanut butter on the side – I think I had my share of pb for the day, wouldn’t ya say?  After I ate the toppings, I did go back and add some more cereal to it…

I swear there was Chobani underneath the mess… here’s the proof…

Chobani Peach Greek Yogurt review:  I absolutely LOVE the texture of Chobani yogurt – it’s amazingly smooth and creamy.  Nutritionally, it’s packed with a ton of protein which makes it an ideal post-workout food!  I also think that this would hold me over on those days where I’m swamped at work and may not have time to grab a quick snack in between meals!  Flavor-wise?  I have never tried the Peach so upon opening the container, I was loving the peach chunks that were mixed into the yogurt.  It smelled great and not artificial by any means.  I used to be hooked on store-brand or Dannon Light fruit-flavored yogurt, but the fruit usually consisted of mashed remnants of what was originally fruit OR manufactured – who knows?!  The fruit in this yogurt actually tasted like the real thing, probably because it is THE REAL THING.  Anyway, if you are lucky enough to have this at your grocery store, I definitely recommend giving it a try.  I was a little skeptical when Julz told me that once you try greek yogurt you will never want any other kind of yogurt, but now I completely relate!  I can’t wait to try the other flavors – more reviews to follow!

Ok well now I’m off to tackle our Christmas Eve dinner so wish me luck and I’ll be back either later tonight or tomorrow with a post depending on how the rest of the day goes.

I hope you all truly have a wonderful Christmas holiday!

I see the label on the Chobani says it’s All Natural. Is it also organic? I’m really trying to switch all of my dairy to organic versions, so I’ve been looking for a tasty yogurt option. I’ll have to check Whole Foods to see if they carry it.

    Merry Christmas!
