Love Of Oats

A blog dedicated to balancing a healthy and fun life… with oats!

Baaaaaaaaack!

Hi Guys!  I’m  back :)   Miss me?  I missed you!  Hopefully you enjoyed the posts this week from the guest bloggers – they were great, weren’t they?  I am so lucky to have them volunteer to post on the blog while I was away!

My trip can best be described as:  whirlwind.  It was tiring & exhausting and I’m so happy to be home!  We worked long days usually 10-12 hrs each day, so sadly (as I anticipated) I didn’t really get to explore anything in Orlando.  When we landed, the temperature was 70 degrees – how insane is that?!  It was SO weird, but I loved it.  Sadly the weather dropped to the 30′s on Tuesday & Wednesday, but it was STILL slightly warmer than back home in Philly, so I didn’t complain.  Plus I heard we got snow here while I was away so luckily, I didn’t have to deal with that.  However, I did take full advantage of room service since we got back to the hotel late each night, it was such a great option.  Here’s a sampling of what I ate:

Mahi Mahi BLT

p1191281

Orange Sorbet Sampler

p1191276

Cobb Salad

p1201295

Oatmeal with Chocolate Chip Clif Z Bar on top

p1201302

Oatmeal with brown sugar & raisins

p1211310

Caprese Sandwich from Au Bon Pain (Orlando airport)

p1221312

I missed so many things while away… and yes, I know it was less than a week, but it really impacted me!  I missed my husband & fam (obviously),  working out everyday, oatmeal, peanut butter, and of course I missed my fruits & veggies!  Seriously!  I tried to eat well in every situation and did a good job, but my diet was severely lacking in the fruits & veggies department, to the point that on Thursday and Friday I felt so sick.  Maybe it was mental, but after being home and eating a few meals involving fruit & veggies already, I feel TONS better.

I also have a LOT of blogs to catch up on, you can’t even imagine how FULL my google reader is!  You guys have been busy :)   Anyway, I have more to post from today’s eats but I’ll wait til later since Bill and I are running late – happy Saturday!

Oh & speaking of things from Orlando, please go check out Meghann’s blog and if you can, donate to her amazing Team In Training marathon fund!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  She is truly such an inspiration to us all :)

Welcome back!!! The guest bloggers were great, but we missed you!

SO jealous to hear about that Florida weather!!! I’d take even the cold days over most of the weather we had this week! Although it did get to almost 50 degrees on Friday, so that was a nice surprise! :-)
