This afternoon was full of baking/cooking ~ how appropriate for Valentine’s Day! However, all of my creations were SO wholesome and I’m so proud of myself haha…
I started out by making OhSheGlow’s Banana Bread Larabars. I did sample some of the “dough” and it tasted identical to a Larabar! I can’t wait to try these. I doubled her recipe and cut them into 8 mini bars. Here’s one of the bars

Then I made a special dessert to bring with me to the Comedy Show tonight: Nature’s Path Double Brownie Mix. I subbed the oil it called for with unsweetened applesauce and honestly, I didn’t taste ANY of the batter – so proud of myself, that’s a huge accomplishment! I topped the batter with 3 chopped dark chocolate squares for extra goodness and cut them into 14 mini brownies. Hopefully our table will enjoy them after dinner tonight! Dessert is provided but I wanted to equip myself with a healthy treat instead

Then I made homemade hot hummus (using crushed red pepper) in my vitamix.

And finally, I just inhaled a snack of a Gala apple with (yet again) crunchy peanut butter.

Now it’s off to grab my purse, brownies, and Bill of course… and head out! Chances are I won’t be posting tonight, so I’ll be back tomorrow!

You are awesome!!! I just recently tried a lara bar and ended up with a pecan pie flavor. My husband is a runner and gets all kinds of samples on race day. He doesn’t like these so I have been throwing them away :X OOPS! LOL I recently had to take the key lime pie one away from my 3 yr old ROFL That was nummy too!

The homemade Larabar is a great idea, you probably save a lot of money making them too! The brownies look delicious, and that is awesome that they are on the healthy side!

Careful, the Larabar company might kill you in your sleep for unlocking the secrets of their whole-foodie goodness. Wow, I’m hungry for a Larabar now.
