Love Of Oats

A blog dedicated to balancing a healthy and fun life… with oats!

Made The Switch

Hi Peeps!  Sorry I didn’t post last night, we had a Phils game to go to so I’m pretty sure you can guess what I got… what I typically always get (besides Bull’s BBQ):  vegetarian wrap from Planet Hoagie… hit the spot yet again!  Yum!

I also snacked on a TON of peanuts ~ there’s something about a baseball game and cracking peanuts that go together!

The game was a disappointment but it was still a blast!  We also got to see the World Series trophy last night ~ it was on display… how cool is that?

Plus I was finally able to find an Ibanez t-shirt, whew… I have been racking my brain out trying to find one!  And we got a Phillies garden flag too!  I can’t wait to put it up!

Ok well now it’s off to work, but I’ll be back to recap breakfast & lunch later :)

PS.  I was so tired this morning so I skipped my spin class; however I have been successfully working out in the am most other days… I think I officially made the switch to am workouts!

Sweet n Salty, Chewy n Crunchy

  • ProductOdwalla Chewy Nut Nourishing Food Bar
  • Flavor: Sweet ‘n Salty Almond
  • Nutritional Facts220 calories, 11g fat, 1g saturated fat, 6g fiber, 8g sugar, 7g protein
  • Why:  I really enjoyed the Odwalla bar I reviewed last week so I decided to follow your recommendations and try this flavor!
  • Taste:  Crunchy & Chewy?  How do they make them like this?  Seriously, though.  I love both textures and I love that they have mastered the combination of the two.  The bar was kind of sweet, even though I was surprised it had less sugar than the banana nut bar, but not overwhelming.  I loved being able to see the big chunks of almonds in the bar too. I loved the sweet n salty combo too, it wasn’t too strong, just right.
  • Satiety:  I had half of this bar before a workout and the other after a workout so I guess I can’t estimate how long it kept me full for, but it did give me the punch I needed to get my workout done.
  • Price:  on sale at $1/bar
  • Why you may not like them:  If you don’t like almonds or almond flavoring or the combination of salty/sweet.
  • Overall, would I have it again?  Again, if I can keep finding these bars for $1 I will keep buying them :)
  • Have you guys tried this flavor?  Do you agree/disagree with my review?
