Ok so this post is just a few weeks behind but I wanted to share it with you anyway, despite the fact that Cinco De Mayo was 16 days ago – oops! Oh well, better late than never, right? A few weeks ago I received a coupon for a free bag of Tyson’s new Grilled & Ready Chicken Breast Strips and since I have become a busy working mom of sorts, I took full advantage and used these strips on a busy weeknight… I probably could have been more creative with the use of them, but lately I have been craving salads like you wouldn’t believe… I think my mind & body is super ready for summer weather
The prep work for these chicken strips is SUPER easy… Literally you just reheat until not frozen anymore either via skillet for a few minutes or microwave (although I can’t speak for the microwave prep, I just preferred to use the skillet method)… Much easier & quicker than cooking frozen or fresh chicken breasts!
I heated our serving (half of the bag) in a skillet with some cumin, pepper, and garlic powder…
I also made some tortilla chips in the oven by cutting ww tortillas lightly sprayed with EVOO spray and baking them in the oven for 12 minutes at 350 degrees – super easy & much better than the bagged kind!
And then I made us massive salad bowls topped with onions, peppers, spinach, & tomatoes… oh yeah & cheese – lots of it!
Dig in!
All in all this was a super quick meal that came together very easily… And I loved the fact that I didn’t have to handle raw meat which typically skeeves me out haha… I was pretty impressed with the texture & quality of the chicken, I really expected the chicken to be rubbery but it was very tender and tasted fresh to me.
I honestly won’t buy this chicken all the time though because it was pretty pricey, $9.99, for a bag, but I will admit that I picked up another bag of them this week at the store after using a $1 off coupon I saw in the weekly circular so I have a quick protein option for dinner on hand in the freezer in case of a true dinner emergency… plus if we can get two meals out of one bag, it is cheaper than running out and grabbing take out from somewhere
