Many many many thanks go out to Julie @ Running Reckless for putting together such a successful and fun Great American Bake Sale event today in support of Share Our Strength! Seriously, she did an awesome job coordinating everything and put a lot of time and heart into the event and it showed!!!!!
I brought my mom with me and we had such a great day working the table and getting to meet so many wonderful food bloggers in the area! I now have quite a few blogs to add to my blogroll and they all have inspired me with their amazing creations…
My mom and I split a homemade cheddar soft pretzel made by Stefan, whose blog I need to find!, which was out of this world! I actually bought two more so I could bring them home for Bill
We also had a quick lunch at A Full Plate and shared the stuffed minis and sweet potato hashbrowns, which was delish (I’m definitely going back for brunch soon!)… I am becoming more and more convinced that goat cheese is in fact the best thing ever created… SO good…
I also purchased the whole grain apple pie pocket, hazelnut biscotti, a cookies n cream whoopie pie, a “burger” (which I bought because it was just TOO cute!) and a vegan pb blondie… I really wanted to buy a CarBomb cupcake and a Margarita cupcake, but they sold out too fast before I could buy one, which I shouldn’t have been surprised about, they both looked amazing! I can’t wait to try them all now
Here’s a bird’s eye view into the event for all of you who weren’t able to make it…
I came home to a messy kitchen because Bill was (attempting) to make home brewed beer… I will definitely let you guys know how it turns out in a couple of weeks, hopefully it turns out delish!
Hope you guys have been having a great weekend
Go Phils!
