Love Of Oats

A blog dedicated to balancing a healthy and fun life… with oats!

Brad Lidge Is My Idol

Ok seriously, all I have to say is that I just attended the BEST GAME EVER, besides the World Series of course… to quote reader Allison!  Seriously, ONLY THE PHILLIES can come back from a 10-3 loss, score 8 runs in ONE (the bottom of the 7th) inning with 1 out, and clinch the game 12-11!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I was going to tell you all about the rest of the day but honestly, it’s nothing compared to the game we just were at :)   It made me so happy!!!!!!!!!!!  For details, you can go here to get the full scoop!  And I have a new obsession with Ibanez… I call him the “freak” :)

However before I get to the game, we did have our new storm door delivered (thank you Mom & Dad!!  It’s a beauty of a door hehe) today and it really makes our house look amazing!

The game started at 3:05, but it was the Ring Ceremony, so we had to be there by 2:15 for the festivities, which were awesome.  They even brought back Pat Burrell and other players who are not Phillies this year to give them their amazing ring.  Um, yeah each ring costs $200,000!!!!!!!  Heres the details for you jewelry lovers…

My eats were not spectacular on the healthy eating front, but they were good… on the way to the game since we were rushed we picked up wraps from Wawa, they were however on the healthy side… mine was packed with turkey, pepperjack cheese, and salsa…

For dinner, I had something I haven’t had since last August (I know because it was the night of my bachelorette party!):  Philly Cheesesteaks… the picture isn’t awesome because I didn’t want the people sitting around me wondering why I was taking pictures of my food since we will be spending all season with them haha…This was the “Heater” from Campo’s and contained pepperjack cheese, hot sauce, and peppers and onions… It had some kick, for sure.

We also picked up our gift for being Season Ticket holders… how awesome are these glasses?

I am still full so now I’m getting ready to put the pjs on and relax!  I’ll leave you with one last “Yay” for the Phillies and a picture of Brad Lidge closing out the game…

Still Memorable

Despite the fact that the game’s outcome last night was not ideal, it was still a fun time… Plus we realized that the Phillies historically have not won the Opening Day/Night game in a LONG time, so I believe they are just holding back to save their skills for later in the season!

Anyway, it was a fun time, although the actual game was slightly boring until the 9th inning then it got action packed…

We started with FOOD :)   Bull’s BBQ Pulled Pork ~ best stuff ever!

I had a Diet Dr. Pepper for the caffeine boost that I so desperately needed!  Anyone notice my cone-head image on the bottle hehe…

Then we ventured around the park… look at the crowds in the parking lot walking to the game!  Sea of red!

Here’s me & Bill, the people next to us took this pic… If you can’t tell I was bundled up!

The players being announced on the field…

Was this not truly amazing?  It was a spectacular sight to see… This was the PA National Guard all holding this giant flag up…

Then members of the Philadelphia Police & Fire Department all represented a different nation while the Philadelphia Boys Choir sang…

And then, the first ball was brought in by paratroopers!

When we got home, we were starving!  I had a cup of Quaker Oatmeal Squares in the Maple flavor with skim ~ so good!

Ok well I am off from work today since I knew it would be a late night… so you’ll be hearing from me throughout the day!
