I was originally going to post tonight about my plans to politely tell the mobs of personal trainers at my gym to leave me alone as it is becoming a huge problem lately every time I go… they come up to me while I’m really pushing myself to the limit on a cardio machine and I politely listen to them, knowing full well pretty much each and every line they are going to say, waiting for the moment that they say “let me sign you up for a free session” and then I politely respond “no thank you” haha…
So I get home and turn on the news and hear about the horrific tragedy in Haiti… and then I realized that the personal trainers asking if I was interested in signing up for a “free” session was not that big of a deal anymore… it’s crazy the little things you worry or complain about, until something really major happens and puts things in perspective… for example, my grandmom’s health scare really made me realize how precious life really is… and then I came home from work and the gym tonight, tired and cranky, and then see the story all over World News and realize yet again that my problems are SO infinitely small compared to other people… I can’t even imagine what life would be like living in Haiti, let alone after an earthquake of this magnitude hits… I mean, think about it? Can you? My heart and my prayers go out to all of those people affected by this disaster… I can’t even imagine…
That being said, Caitlin posted a request for you all to follow her example and donate money and I am asking you to do the same… But please make sure you are not a victim of a scam, be sure to give to a recognized organization… I’m personally donating to Samaritan’s Purse because I am very familiar with the organization sine our Church prepares shoeboxes as Christmas gifts for children all over the world.
And I understand if you can’t give $, but you can give something else… your prayers!
